bethworks
While an architectural designer at RTKL, I collaborated on the design of Bethworks, a new retail and entertainment district located on the brownfield site of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Pennsylvania.
Inspired by the industrial character of the site, the overall design approach was derived from the concept, “bringing new life to old steel.” The architecture and materials of the complex celebrates the industrial character of the site, its scale, strength and history, while also reflecting the present.
Site Area: 2.5 million sf (57.5 acres)
Hotel: 275,000 sf (300 keys)
Casino: 460,000 sf (3,000 slots)
Retail: 246,000 sf
Parking Garage: 1.3 million sf (3,000 cars)
