Glen Ellyn Contemporary

With the client’s move-in date around the corner, time was of the essence in the renovation of this Glen Ellyn kitchen. As Project Manager at Park & Oak Design, I was tasked with designing and managing this project on a very short timeline from concept through construction.

Due to the quick schedule, appliances were reused and little to no significant plumbing or electrical changes were made. But, a few tweaks to the layout had a big impact on balancing the space. Wanting to give the light-filled kitchen a rich quality, we opted for darker cabinetry and brought in warm wood tones and colorful tile to provide balance. The addition of new cooktop knobs and custom metal trim below with artwork/accessories created a more personalized space reflecting the client’s modern aesthic.
