Glen Ellyn Traditional

A recently retired couple, downsized and moved into a downtown Glen Ellyn multi-level condo. The biggest assignment was transforming their very dark, builder-grade kitchen into a more sophisticated space suited for entertaining.

No significant changes were made to the layout, but with the incorporation of several design elements the kitchen is now infused with character and plenty of storage. To trick the eye into the space feeling larger, floor to ceiling cabinetry and panel ready appliances were used. The addition of a glass paneled worktop cabinet was not only a beautiful storage solution, it also helped improve sightlines and maximize the natural light. The custom hood with stone detail, wire mesh display cabinets and unique furniture piece housing the wine fridges bring that extra element of sophistication to this small but mighty kitchen.
